Obituary for Walter Griffin
Walter Bryant Griffin, 81 passed away November 21, 2017. He was born in Prescott, Arizona on May 3, 1936 to Lawrence Elwood Griffin and Josie May Griffin.
Walter joined the Navy in 1953 where he specialized in cryptography. He went on to have careers in law enforcement, Department of Corrections and was an accomplished business owner.
He enjoyed golf, fishing, gold sleuthing and spending time with his family. He was a member of many organizations including Shadow Hills Country Club as well as being a lifelong member of “The Breakfast Club”.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Joyce Griffin; son, Todd Bryan Griffin; daughter, Shelly Dawn Griffin; sisters, Lawana and Gwen; brothers, David and Harold; grandchildren Hannah, Holly, Hope and Benjamin Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Griffin; mother, Josie May Griffin; two brothers, Lawrence and John Griffin; sister, Kathleen.
Graveside service, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, Lakeside Cemetery, 1529 S. 9th Street in Canon City, Colorado. Memorial contributions can be made to the Golden Age Center, 728 Main Street, Canon City, Colorado 81212.
