Betty Lou (Currie) Freeman, 88, of Colorado Springs, passed away on December 26, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Betty Lou Currie was born in Des Plaines, Illinois to Henry Lawson Currie and Lena Mae Currie on December 29, 1928. She graduated from Maine Township High School in Park Ridge, Illinois. She married Frank Avery Freeman, III on June 17, 1949 in Park Ridge. She worked as a book keeper in Chicago, Illinois and the Oak Brook Park District for many years. She was involved in the Lions Club, American Cancer Society, a member of several church choirs, and was an avid bowler.
Betty Lou was preceded in death by Henry Currie, Lena Mae Currie, and Jessie Bruhn (sister).
Betty Lou Freeman is survived by her husband, Frank Avery Freeman III; children, Gail Freeman, Diane(Michael), DeLaurentis, Deborah Pinter, Julie Helkenn, and Frank Avery Freeman, IV; grandchildren, John Staszak, Christie Payne, Angela Warwick, Kelly Ritz, Heather DeLaurentis, Nicole Bacan, Rebecca Clay, John Jason Pinter, Jared Helkenn, Cody Pinter, Jessica, Joshua, Lucas Ramsey, and Avery Freeman; along with 14 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral service, 2:00 p.m. Friday December 29, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 801 Main Street, Canon City, Colorado, with Pastor Eric Feuerstein officiating. Arrangements are by Holt Funeral Home, Canon City.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. The family of Betty Lou Freeman wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Mount Saint Francis Nursing Center in Colorado Springs and the First United Methodist Church.
