Condolence: We are so sorry to hear that Don passed away. He was such a special person to both of us.

My husband was very fortunate to have had Don as his broadcasting instructor in the early 1980’s. He learned so much from Don – knowledge that he could never have attained anywhere else!!! This knowledge allowed him to have very successful careers at KKTV (25 years) and DirecTV (10 years). They continued to be friends throughout the years.

I was honored to have worked with Don at PPCC, and it was a pleasure to get to know him and his daughter, Sarah. I just adored both of them! He was such a gentle man who was very passionate about his work and his family. He made such a difference in the lives of virtually thousands of students. He will be forever missed by everyone who knew him. As for us, we will never forget him - he will continue to live in our hearts as long as we live.

Sandy and family, We are so very sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence From: Spike Burrows
Condolence: The times that I spent with Don were always filled with laughter, wonder, and interest. We never had a silence between us, always sharing our thoughts and hopes. I will miss the talks and time with Don. Our hunting trips near Canon City taught us much about trust and companionship, even though in the woods we were not talking nor in eye sight of each other. We just “knew” where each of us would be and which direction we would travel. We loved our few trips to Village Inn, eating super crispy hash browns, and sharing moments from our busy schedules. Even when we had several months between our visits, it seemed like just a few days since we had last spoke. Don told me one thing that concerned him, and that was the loss of all his knowledge of video production and the artful side of getting the right shot at the right time. My response to him was that his legacy will endure. Each student and friend he had will share those thoughts. Don had impact on many people throughout his life, and I am honored to have shared a few precious moments with him. I will miss his hugs, his laugh, and his enthusiasm for life, but I am thankful that a part of Don lives on within my spirit.
