Obituary for Frank B. Miller

Frank B. Miller passed away at home after battling bladder cancer. His family and Sangre De Cristo cared for him at home.
Frank was born in Pennsylvania to John and Florence Miller. His dad was in the Army, and Frank lived in Japan and Italy as a child. He attended junior and senior high schools in Colorado Springs, CO, and earned his B.A. in Sociology at Western State College and his M.A. at the University of Wyoming.
Frank worked for the Department of Defense and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Wyoming before starting his thirty year career with the Colorado Department of Corrections. He served at several facilities and was Colorado Corrections Association employee of the year. He retired as Deputy Warden. He also taught Corrections classes at Pueblo Community College.

He was active in numerous community organization including Eagles, Elks, Sertoma, Optimists and Rotary Club. Many years were spent holding offices and serving on boards of Fremont County United Way, West Central Mental Health, FEMA, Business-Education Alliance RE1 Schools, Pueblo Community College Advisory Board, Saint Thomas More Hospital Board of Directors, and Saint Thomas More Hospital Foundation.
Being with his family, playing tennis, riding motorcycles, bantering politics with friends, and going to the dog park with his dog Roscoe were favorite activities. Frank also loved to travel and was always planning the next trip.
Frank met Fran Jackson in high school and they were married while in college. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage and raised two wonder children.
Frank is survived by his wife, Fran; daughter, Mollie Miller (Tammy Stone); son, Luke (Elizabeth) Miller; three grandsons, Dhonn, Jackson, and Jacob Miller; brother, Ronald Miller of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Gwen Miller, JoAnn (DeWayne) Hall; mother-in-law, Margaret Jackson; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Miller.
Memorial service, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018, Wilson Memorial Chapel, 1449 S. 9th St. Canon City, Colorado 81212
